Time has flown by so fast!  I was looking at my calendar today and couldn’t believe its August and I have just turned 25!  Crazy!  It has been an interesting and very challenging past couple of months, but I give God the glory for what he has brought me through.  It’s all about him!  He didn’t promise that “The cross would not get heavy, but he did say he would never leave nor forsake thee”.  What a promise we have in our Lord! 

Just to update you on the group… We have been off for the past couple of weeks due to Birthdays etc.  Were so excited for our full schedule the rest of the year and what God is going to do.  Our CD release party turned out great.  We are so thankful for our family and friends that were able to make it. I would have to give kudos to my pap; he has been our promoter back home in WV.  He even sold our latest project right out of his cd player.  A couple months ago we were able to sing with The Bowling Family.  It was my first time hearing them.  What a blessing they were!  They are for sure a ministry with the hand of The Lord upon them.  It was such a privilege being with them.

After the singing we all headed to Gatlinburg, TN for some camping.  We swam, rode bikes, and sang around the fire, (an absolute must) had homemade biscuits and gravy every morning!  It was yummy!  Oh, I also got to see three bears!!  I told Ricky that my goal was to at least see one.  Me being the adventurous soul that I am… Hopped out of the back of the truck, went through the woods, over the creek and got with in 20 feet of a he bear!  (DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!) LOL It was so awesome J  He was just sitting there scratching his ear.  We had a blast!

The 4^th was great!  Ricky breaking his ankle in 2 places was a highlight.  He for sure took one for the team!

Hello Everyone!  I can’t believe we’re already in June.  It seems like we were just celebrating Christmas.  Well, we have had a great couple of weeks.  We had the opportunity to sing with our friends/heroes “The Bowling Family” at Carolina Nights Dinner Theater in Maggie Valley, NC.  It was so good to see the Bowling Family and hear songs from their new project.

We spent Memorial Day weekend camping in Townsend, TN.  Our first night, Ricky woke up to the sound of a skunk sniffing through our trash!  We visited Cades Cove and sang an old hymn in one of the churches there.  That was really neat.  We had a great time biking, fishing, and singing by the campfire.  I think my son, Hayden, would camp year around if he could.  He loves being outside!!!

I know as summer begins everyone gets really busy-so do we!!  I encourage you to continue to dedicate time to prayer, reading God’s Word, and attending worship.  Check out our schedule on line, we would love to see you at an upcoming event.

Hello Everybody!!!  It appears that summer is in full force right now.  Kids are getting out of school, vacations are starting, and the temperature is getting hotter.   I can remember the anticipation of summer when I was growing up and in school.  I can remember looking forward to playing baseball all summer and going on vacation with my family….lot of good memories.  As we get older, it is funny how things change.  Now when I think of summer I just think how hot it is going to be and how crowded it will be on vacation, hahaha.  I guess I’m getting old….

I want to challenge myself and everyone else to look forward to this summer with excitement.  Thank about all the good things summer brings….. more daylight, more sun tans, more time with friends, more time with your kids, maybe a summer vacation trip, Vacation Bible School, etc…

Take this same Philosophy and compare it to our Christian Lives.  When the Lord first saves us we are on “Cloud Nine” for a while and excited about being a witness for the Lord.  We want to be in the Church House every chance we get.  As time passes on and all the “stuff” of life happens, we can lose a little bit of our anticipation for Heaven.  We get more concerned with the temporal hardships of life instead of the Eternal things that really matter. 

Keep fighting the good fight off faith, and let your anticipation of Heaven grow stronger and stronger.

Hey guys!

Hope all is well with all of our fellow blog followers.  We all are really excited about our CD release party May 22, 2010 @ 6pm.  We will have a great time singing all the songs from the new project as well as having refreshments.  This will be a really fun night!  SO COME ON OUT! Lol

This past Friday night I took Hayden (Matt and Tiff’s son) out to the infamous Chuckee Cheese here in Asheville .  The little guy see’s me and all he says  is “Wicky, I wanna go to Chuckee Cheeses”.  I think sometimes I enjoy it more than he does. lol  After all it has been said by the Jamerson’s that I am his step brother.  I will accept that along with a hefty allowance. (Hope you are reading this Matt)  It’s great to spend quality time with people you love.  Speaking of love… Hayden and I were on our way back home and out of the back seat I hear him singing. “Jesus loves me yes I know, for the Bible tells me so…”  I turned down the radio and just listened to him.  All of a sudden he says: “Wicky Jesus loves me….. and you”.  I can honestly say that ministered to me.  If a 2 year old realizes that Jesus loves him and can sing about it, that’s incredible.  I just thought to myself for a minute , ”what an awesome God. ”   He loves us!  No matter the age, race, or gender.  Our GOD loves us with all of his heart.  Take the time out today to tell Jesus how much you love him!

Tell those that you love how much they mean to you.  We are never guaranteed tomorrow!

Well, Matt and I had a great weekend with our son Hayden.  We went to the NC Zoo in Asheboro.  It was absolutely amazing to see the different animals and reflect on God’s creation.  Hayden really liked the Zebras and Bald Eagles.  We also took Hayden to his first Nascar Race at the Hickory Motor Speedway.  Matt is hoping for a Saturday Night racing buddyJ. 

Just yesterday I ran into an old friend.  We started talking and she shared with me that in September of 2008, she lost her son due to a still birth in her eighth month of pregnancy.   Since then her and her husband have experienced five miscarriages.  I can’t imagine her loss.  There are so many people experiencing pain, let’s be the Church that God has called us to be and pray for and encourage each other.  When everything else in life is unpredictable you can be confident in God’s security (Psalms 46:1).

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!  Take time to pray for your friends, family, leaders, and most importantly for the lost!

Happy Easter Week!  Hope it’s been a great one so far.  Nothing better than knowing Jesus is not dead.  He is very alive and He is watching over us today!

This past weekend was great.  It started out with Bible study Friday night, talking about how God loves us despite who we are.  We have reached the end of our 30 day New Testament study with Easter coming up on Sunday.  As a group we’ve grown and learned so much!  When this life gets so complicated, I’m always reminded that we must rely on the Word and “Have Faith as a mustard seed.”

Saturday we headed toward Knoxville, TN and stopped at Chilies to eat.  Ricky put me up to a dare and we sang for our food….Well I sang for my food.  They were supposed to chime in with me, but they left me hanging.  It was funny though.

Sunday we had two services and they were both awesome.  We meet some very sweet people.  Thanks pastors for having us out at your Church.

Lastly, I encourage everyone this week to really think about Easter and what it means.  There was a verse that really stuck out to me this week.  John 15:13 says “Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  Jesus could have called 10,000 angels to come and get him off that cross, but he went through it all so that you and I could be free!  He’s a good God, never moving, consistent, and He is Real!!!

Long time no talk… Things have been very hectic for the group lately. (Of course in a good way) God continues to open doors for our ministry in so many different avenues we never would have dreamed of. With every opportunity I am reminded of the “ONE” who ordaines each and every footstep.  Its so incredible to look back close to six years ago and see where He begin to put each part of the puzzle together to make up “Standing Still”.  One thing I have learned in these past six years of service is “GOD” has a great plan in store.  It’s up to us to have that mustard seed of faith when things seem to make no sense at all.  Its up to us to get in his word and move to that deeper level so when storms may come we will stand strong and not be moved.  HE IS AN AWESOME GOD WHO WANTS TO ACCOMPLISH AWESOME THINGS IN YOUR LIFE!!! (I better move on before I start preaching) lol!

I want to challenge you this week…  I recently traveled to the Raleigh, NC area.  As I was traveling back home from some meetings I decided to stop in a “Christian Bookstore” and check out some of their cd selections.  The time was close to 8:45pm and I knew the store would be closing at 9:00pm.  I thought to myself.. “I have an idea of what CD I would like to purchase, I’ll run in listen to a quick preview of it and be out of the store by 8:55pm.  As I entered the store I was greeted with a not so friendly ”Hey, We will be closing in 15 min”.  I smiled and said…  “Thank you”.  “How are you doing”?  The lady turned her back to me and acted as if I had never said a word to her.  Needless to say I hurried to make my selection and proceeded with checking out.  The same lady totaled my transactions although she never looked me in the eye the whole time I stood infront of her.  I couldnt help but notice her bracelet… It was a WWJD braclet.  As I picked my bag off the counter I looked at the lady and said “God bless you, Have a good night”.  She politely looked up at the clock and said thanks…  Of course the natural thinking with this lady would had been  “What a jerk”!  “I am being overly nice to her and she in better terms is telling me to get out of her face more less”.   As I drove out of the parking lot I was reminded that we should be a “….Light unto this dark world….” I know we all have bad days and if your anything like me there are days you have to catch yourself before your light becomes consumed with darkness.   I know that young lady had probably had a bad day and was ready to get off of her feet. The last thing she wanted to see was a customer coming in at 15min untill closing.  Myself being a christian was able to take it with a smile and pray her night got better.  My biggest concern was all of the”non Christians” she assist on an everyday basis.  Whether they came in to purchase a cd for a friend, check out the store, or use the restroom. (ok, dont act like you have never went into a store just use the restroom) lol

In all seriousness if she approached a “lost” person with that same attitude do you really think her WWJD bracelet would have been looked highly upon or a just a nice addition to her outfit???      It reminded me of those cars you see with “Honk if you love Jesus” bumper stickers.  Although,  you hear the driver using a few choice words because someone pulled out infront of them….

The moral of this story is shine the light of Jesus for the whole world to see.  There are so many people that are “lost” and “saved” that are fighting the biggest battles of their lives.  They are crying out inside for someone to help them.  An encouraging word, smile or hug can honestly make a day.  Ive been there…Ive felt that…  You may be the only light of Jesus they see.

Back to the challenge for you.  Take the time to let someone know Jesus loves them!  When you see that one hurting ask yourself… WWJD

We had the opportunity to spend some time with Ashley’s family this weekend too. Chris and Isaiah drove down from West Virginia and helped us set up and tear down our sound equipment all weekend. They were a huge help. Ricky and I didn’t know how to act, not having to carry all that sound equipment around, haha. We also got to go to one of our favorite Mexican Restaurants for Lunch. Isaiah ordered Fish Taco’s. I thought it was a joke, but he was serious. They really had them. I guess I am a little sheltered when it comes to that type of stuff, haha. He said they were great, but I wasn’t about to try them.

I want to share a quick thought that has been on my mind a lot lately. Have you asked this question today, “Where Does the Time Go?” I seem to be asking myself this question a lot lately, especially with the time change this weekend. The Bible describes our lives perfectly in James 4:14 by saying, “Life is like a Vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanishes away.” The balancing act of life can often times be a struggle for us Christians. Many of us are guilty of spending to little time with our families and too much time at work, or spending too much time on hobbies and too little time in God’s Word, or even spending too much time being busy and too little time on enjoying what God has blessed us with. I’m reminded of this fact every Saturday morning when my little boy comes down the stairs, early in the morning, and says “Wake up Daddy lets play.” My natural mind wants to roll over and go right back to sleep, but my Spirit just want let me!!! May I encourage each of us to do a “Time Inventory” on our lives and see just where our time is spent? I dare you to take a Challenge this week!!! Sacrificing something and replace it with the word of God. Replace a meal with the word of God. Replace an hour of sleep with the Word. Cut the TV off (during your favorite show) and read the Word. God will bless obedience!!!! And he Honors Sacrifice!!! Dying to self is what He has called us to do.
